24Segons: Our Sustainable Growth

It's been more than 24 years since 24Segons started The Journey in Mataró, Catalunya. A place where basketball matters, as well as you, who make our job meaningful.

More than two decades of restless work, with achieves and challenges, in which our company has become a national and international reference for all of you basketball lovers.

Today, we have 3 physical stores (Mataró, Girona and Barcelona) and one of the strongest e-Commerces in the basketball community. We've growth with the best generation of basketball players ever, those who opened for ever the doors of the NBA. Gasol brothers, Navarro, Ricky Rubio, 'Chacho' Rodríguez... A group of stars that made our basketball known worlwide as more and more people fell in love with that amazing sport.

Our journey is being amazing but challenging; successful but demanding. But we keep being motivated because we have too much to grow yet.

This is our Main Game

Growing is not just having more stores or a better engagement. Growing is to change your habits in order to improve how your job is done. Since long time ago, one of our main goals is be more sustainable, as 24Segons is working harder than ever to be more respectful with the environment.

Our RSC remains as one of our Top tasks during this season. In fact, we're still working to recude our emissions buy using recycled materials in our online shippings. But we cannot do it by our own. We need you, 24ers.

24Segons Headquarters

Late in 2019 we could finally open our new Headquarters, the Heart of 24Segons. The place where all our stuff begins. There all our employees could work better, faster to reach our main goal: Your satisfaction and trust.

But the main thing here is that we could drastically reduce our delivery paths among our stores. We have our route program to a minimum, reducing also our carbon emissions day by day.

Plastic is Over for Us

When we came into or sustainable conversion, we had clear that plastic must be forbidden in 24Segons stores. All our material (bags, gift wraps..) we work with comes from paper or paperboard.

We trully believe this is one of the most important things todo in retail world. Plastic could be easily replaced as we've been doing it for years! Such a "small" decision that heavily reduce the generated waste.

24Segons e-Commerce: The Biggest Step

24Segons Online Store have been the biggest growth during the last couple of years. Every time you are more who trust in our services to bring basketball to your door, so we want you to stay with us in our sustainable journey.

All the packaging of our online purchases are made by recycled paperboard. No plastic, no matter how big your sales are.

First of all, shipping envelopes are back and forth. Made by recycled paper with a double-close system just in case you need to change or return your order. So please use the same package you receive!

But what about our shipping boxes? Exactly the same. The whole packaging is made by recycled materials with 100% security guarantee. But this is not enough! Sooner than you think, all our boxes will reduce their paperboard structure with no-plastic closures.

Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.

We should not feel satisfied just skipping plastic.We can't. Paperboard is the ideal one to do our thing, but that generates waste too. That's why 24Segons have an agreement with Fundación CEO Del Maresme, whose role is special day by day fighting for the inclusion of the disabled people.

Based in Mataró, this company weekly collects all our used paperboard and to recycle them properly. Such a social and environmental commitment that we proudly support.

Knowledge is Power

We are more than 30 employees in 24Segons, but still being few people to make a real impact. All this actions must be taken in account for all of us in an individual consideration.

Meetings about recycling, reduction of printings by digitalizing our communications, saving energies.... Even our CEO comes to the office in a Scooter!

Those little changes are creating a big one that allow us to improve both as a company and humans being.

Despite that kind of changes we hare having, 24Segons are not satisfied yet. Not even close. We work everyday to offer a better, more profesional and respectful service with both you as a customers and the environment.

The best is yet to come. We are commited to keep making changes and finding solutions to do our job without emissions and waste generation. We are supposed to be here to take care of our planet, our life. PERIOD.
